As defined by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, “tele-nutrition” is “The interactive use by an RD/RDN, of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to implement the Nutrition Care Process with patients or clients at a remote location.”
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services defines tele-health as “the use of technology to deliver healthcare, health information and or health education.”
At 1Potato2Tomato, we are pleased to offer tele-nutrition services to provide convenient and accessible care from the comfort of your home/office. Please review the following policy to understand how our tele-nutrition services work and what you can expect:
Eligibility

Our Tele-nutrition services are available to clients located within the following 9 states as per our state Licensures and License reciprocity: ARIZONA, CALIFORNIA, COLORADO, CONNETICUT, FLORIDA, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, TENNESSEE & VIRGINIA.

Minors may participate in tele-nutrition sessions with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who must also be present during the session.
Scheduling and Platform

All tele-nutrition appointments are conducted via Zoom, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platforms. Instructions for accessing your session will be provided upon booking.

Please ensure you are in a private, safe (non-driving, working, exercising etc.) quiet location with a stable internet connection for the duration of the session.
Privacy and Confidentiality

Your privacy is important to us. Our tele-nutrition platform is HIPAA-compliant, ensuring that your personal health information remains secure and confidential.

Please note that while we take all necessary precautions to protect your information, no electronic communication can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Fees and Payment

Payment is due at the time of booking on our booking platform. We accept payments through an electronic credit card service platform.
Cancellations and Rescheduling

Limitations and Scope

Tele-nutrition services are designed for non-emergency care and wellness support.

In case of a medical or psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency facility.
Acknowledgment and Consent
By participating in tele-nutrition services, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to the terms of this policy.

HEALTH INSURANCE
Some of our Tele-nutrition services may be covered under insurance. Please check with your insurance carrier. All of our tele-nutrition services and or nutrition meal plans & products available and sold on our website are self-pay out pocket expenses and due to be paid at time of purchase.
